M4A to MP3
MP3 plays on every phone, in the car and on older players, while M4A, WAV, FLAC and OGG sometimes do not. Choose one or more files, pick a quality of 128, 192 or 320 kbps and stereo or mono, and the tool turns each one into MP3. Your browser opens the sound and the LAME MP3 encoder runs on your device.

Frequently asked questions
Does it also do WAV to MP3, OGG to MP3 and FLAC to MP3?
Yes. The tool is also a WAV to MP3, OGG to MP3 and FLAC to MP3 converter: add a WAV recording, an OGG voice message or FLAC music, or AAC, and each file becomes an MP3. You can add them mixed, up to 20 at once.
Which quality should I choose?
192 kbps is a good choice for music. For WAV and FLAC, which are lossless, 320 kbps keeps the most. For speech, voice recorder clips and voice messages, 128 kbps in mono is enough.
Does the sound get better as MP3?
No. Converting cannot bring back quality lost when the M4A was made. A 320 kbps MP3 from a 128 kbps M4A is only a larger file of the same sound, so choose a quality close to the original.
Can I convert a WhatsApp voice message?
Yes. Voice messages are OGG files and the tool converts them to MP3 in Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Older versions of Safari cannot open OGG, and the tool then says the sound cannot be opened.
Are the song title and artist kept?
No. The MP3 gets the sound only, and you add the title, artist and cover in your music app.
Does it work with video?
Yes, the tool also takes an MP4 video and makes an MP3 from it. To take only part of the sound from a video, use MP4 to MP3.
