Why is the PNG larger than the WebP?
WebP uses stronger compression. PNG keeps every pixel losslessly, so the file is usually larger while the quality matches the original.
What about animated WebP images?
The first frame of the animation becomes a still PNG image.
When is JPG better?
For photos without transparency, JPG gives a much smaller file. Use the WebP to JPG tool.
