Choose an image
Ideally a square PNG of at least 256 pixels.

Pick the sizes
16, 32, and 48 pixels are needed for a favicon. Windows uses the larger sizes.

Download the ICO
Put favicon.ico in the root folder of your website.

What if the image is not square?
