Frequently asked questions

My browser shows an error opening the AVIF.

AVIF needs a recent browser: Chrome or Edge from 2020 or later, Firefox from 2021, or Safari 16. Update your browser and try again.

What happens to transparent areas?

JPG has no transparency, so those areas are filled with the background colour you choose. For transparency, use AVIF to PNG.

Is quality lost?

JPG uses lossy compression, but at high quality the difference is invisible to the eye.
