Image to text (OCR)

Text recognition, known as OCR, reads the letters in an image and turns them into text you can copy, edit, and search. It works with photos of documents, screenshots, and scans, and it recognises Bosnian letters such as č, ć, đ, š, and ž. Everything happens on your device.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the recognition?

For sharp, straight printed text the accuracy is high. Handwriting, blurry photos, and unusual fonts produce more errors, so check the text.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The recognition program and language data are downloaded from this site once and run in your browser.

How do I get a better result?

Photograph the document straight on, in good light and without shadows. The Document scanner corrects perspective before recognition.

Can I get a Word document?

Yes. The JPG to Word tool saves the recognised text as DOCX.
