Size and compression

Change image DPI

DPI tells printers and programs how many pixels go into one inch, which sets the print size. Print shops and forms often ask for 300 DPI. The tool changes only that value in the file, while the pixels and quality stay exactly the same.

Frequently asked questions

Does a higher DPI improve quality?

No. Quality depends on the number of pixels. A higher DPI only means the same pixels print on a smaller area, so they look sharper.

Why does the print shop ask for 300 DPI?

At 300 pixels per inch the eye cannot see individual dots on paper. If the image lacks pixels for the size you want, enlarge it with the Image upscaler.

Are other formats supported?

The tool changes DPI in JPG and PNG files. Convert other formats to JPG or PNG first.
