Effects and colour

Invert image colours

Inverting turns every colour into its opposite: black becomes white and blue becomes orange. You get a negative effect, a dark version of a screenshot or diagram, or a quick look at a scanned black and white film. Transparent areas stay transparent.

Frequently asked questions

Can I develop a colour negative this way?

A colour negative has an orange base, so inverting alone gives a bluish result. Then fix the colours with Brightness, contrast, and colour or the Photo enhancer.

Is transparency kept?

Yes. Only the colours change, and every pixel keeps its opacity.

How do I get the original back?

Invert the image again and you get the original colours.
