Frequently asked questions
Can I get an EAN number for my product here?
No. A real EAN number for retail sale is assigned by GS1. The tool only draws the barcode for a number you already have.
What is the check digit?
The last digit of an EAN code is used for checking. When you type 12 digits for EAN-13 or 7 digits for EAN-8, the tool adds the check digit automatically.
Which format should I choose?
EAN-13 for shop products, EAN-8 for small packs, ITF-14 for cartons. For internal labels, inventory and codes with letters, use Code 128.
PNG or SVG?
PNG is enough for documents and normal printing. SVG stays sharp at any size, so it is better for labels and professional print.
